This is one of the most common complaints I hear in my practice. My honest answer: occasional tiredness is normal, but feeling exhausted all the time is not something you should just accept.
Common, everyday causes include:
- Poor sleep quality or not enough sleep
- Dehydration
- A diet low in iron, B12, or overall nutrients
- High stress or unmanaged anxiety
- Too little physical activity, which sounds counterintuitive but is a common culprit
When it might be something more: Persistent fatigue that doesn’t improve with better sleep, hydration, and diet can sometimes point to an underlying issue — thyroid problems, anemia, sleep apnea, or depression are common ones I check for.
My advice: If you’ve addressed the basics — sleep, hydration, nutrition, stress — and you’re still exhausted most days, it’s worth getting bloodwork done rather than pushing through it indefinitely. Chronic fatigue is a symptom, not something to just live with.
